Kath, the owner of Kate Studio, is a contemporary artist and art teacher who is passionate about manipulating glass and multi-media work.  Born in Vancouver, Canada, she has spent over 30 years honing her skills and teaching art in Silicon Valley, California and Bellingham, Washington.   Growing up in a family of painters, metalsmiths, and glass blowers, self-expression through art was a normal part of her upbringing.  She is passionate about sharing her art with others, teaching children and adults in schools, the community center and special needs programs.

Although she loves to teach, Kath also creates fused glass and ceramic jewelry at Kate Studio. Her work was nominated for one of Martha Stewart’s “American Made” awards, and appeared on San Francisco-area fashion runways. It was there that her work really took off, after being photographed on her fashion model daughter.  Kath’s work is sold in various stores in Bellingham and in California’s Triton Museum of Art. She has a permanent table where she sells at the Whatcom Art Market in Fairhaven.
